AAMM ADVANCED TREATMENT MODULE IN MUSUCULOSKELETAL MEDICINE

MODULE 2 - INJECTION THERAPIES, PERINEURAL THERAPY AND TRIGGER POINT THERAPY

LEARNING OUTCOMES

This module consists of a three-day workshop in Adelaide and will provide training in the following:

  • Explaining the theory, practice, potential benefits and side effects to patients

  • Demonstrating accurate surface markings for key neuromusculoskeletal structures

  • Selection of appropriate patients

  • Safe injection techniques using realistic animal models and patient demonstrations

  • Apply appropriate treatment regimes and follow-up for patients with headache, neck and upper back pain likely to benefit from prolotherapy, perineural therapy and trigger point injections

  • An introduction to platelet rich plasma injections for the sacroiliac joint and knee will also be provided in this module.

Dates: Friday 26 April - Sunday 28 April 2024

Time: 8.30 am – 4.30 pm each day

Venue: Tennyson Centre, 420 South Road, Kurralta Park, Adelaide.

Module cost: $2100

Pre-requisites: Participants must hold a current AAMM membership and must have completed the AAMM Certificate of Musculoskeletal Medicine (or equivalent, to be approved by Convenor).

RECOGNITION FOR PRIOR LEARNING

Completion of all four regional one-day AAMM injection therapies workshops will be considered for recognition of prior learning for this module.

Close of Registration: Friday 12 April 2024 to allow adequate time for pre-reading requirements.

CPD

A certificate of attendance will be supplied on completion of the module to facilitate claiming of appropriate Education Activity hours and Review of Performance hours.

Applications for CPD hours will be the responsibility of the participants, however the AAMM  as a registered education provider will provide certificate of attendance and provide recommendations for the claiming of appropriate hours for the CPD categories of 'Educational Activities', Measuring Outcomes' and 'Reviewing Performance'. For modules 1, 2 and 3 the CPD hours will come from the 'Educational Activities'  and 'Reviewing Performance' categories.
